IHOP Files Trademark Suit Against Church Group

Breakfast restaurant chain IHOP has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against a religious group of the same name. The lawsuit claims the religious group, International House of Prayer, is violating numerous trademarks held by the restaurant causing “great and irreparable injury” and confusing the public. Officials for the restaurant chain said they decided to file the suit after the church “refused repeated requests to stop using the trademark.”
